Swirling whirls of color dance
around my aching head
Pretty soon I'm seeing sour and I'm tasting red
Ancient mysteries unfold inside my head
My spirit's injected in the jester's eyes
Following my mind's eye, looking for inspiration
Trying to find the question, to fill in the answer
Following the angels' dance upon a pin
Dancing with my spirit, keeping my heart open
Now I'm wondering just what time it is
Then I realize I don't know or care
My eternal guide stretches out his arms
Keeping my way free from harm
The ground outside is red and glowing
But it don't matter 'cause I don't know where I'm going
Got to sell some donuts to some freaked out cats
Make some cash money to get home to my cats
A friend I don't know stops by and says hello
He offers a part of his soul for a hit of my bowl
Says he searches for a a better day
I say I think that the best day is today
I peddle the jelly roll and fill up my tank
Song comes on the radio by some guy named Frank
Traveled so far today but yet didn't move
Just fell right in step with that cosmic groove
Animals
are People Too Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
Animals are people
too
Live on the earth with me and you
Just because they can't fight no war
Hunt them down until they ain't no more
Got to stop polluting the sea
Spread famine and world disease
If we don't do what's right
Gonna live in a cold dark night
Please respect your mother the earth
You don't know just what's she's worth
It's up to us we are the ones
To leave something for our daughters and sons
Burning fuels that foul the air
If you don't see them, it's not there
Take a lesson from the past
For every breath could be your last
Got to stop building bombs
We'll be gone before too long
Gotta learn to love each other
Treat each man as your brother
Angry
Young Man Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
I'm an angry young
man what can I say?
look at the scene we've created today
nothing for good unless it lines someone's pockets
Cold War's over but we're still making rockets
Angry young man, better stay away
Angry young man, I'm gonna make you all pay
Angry young man, I just don't understand
Angry young man, I'm an angry young man
I'm an angry young man, can't take it no more
Take our leaders heads and pound them on the floor
Never gonna give up, never gonna bow
Give me the reigns 'cause I'm taking over now
Angry young man, get the hell away
Angry young man, want your head on a tray
Angry young man, I just don't understand
Angry young man, I'm an angry young man
I'm an angry young man, I know the end is near
I got nothing to hide, nothing to fear
Got to see the faces on Judgement Day
No more blatant lies, nothing they can say
Angry young man, better stay away
Angry young man, gonna blow like Pompeii
Angry young man, I just don't understand
Angry young man, I'm an angry young man
I'm an angry young man, that's what I be
Gotta change this injustice that's forced upon me
People gonna rise up, people gonna yell
Take our politicians and send them all to hell
Angry young man, better stay away
Angry young man, Newt Gingrich souffle
Angry young man, I just don't understand
Angry young man, I'm an angry young man
Black
and White Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1992
Some
say that the world is black and white
I don't know but I don't think they're right
the earth is living color, all around the world
I don't know just what you've heard
Keep on listening to the Jah Love word
Look around and you will find
it out
Love is the way without a doubt
Listen to your heart, oh that's just a start
Look around you'll find a place
To get out of this human rat race
Oh I think that we can find the way
To get us out of this mess today
We freed Nelson Mandela, started down the road
The bucket is filled drop by drop
We won't stop 'til we reach the top
Freedom's
Time Has Come Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
I'm sending out
a message coming from my heart
Even though I know that it's a little part
They say you know you've got to make a start
And if you're gonna start you better start from the heart
Sing out my sisters and my brothers, Send out the message
to the others
Playing dice with
my freedom
Keeping my from hurting myself
Decide for me what is right and wrong
Can't you see that's not where I belong?
Freedom Warrior, that's what I am
Freedom Warrior, doing what I can
Freedom Warrior, fighting for my rights
Freedom Warrior, proving might don't make right
Rights eroding one by one
Pretty soon there won't be a single one
Let me live my life in my own way
Don't put me in jail for a jay
Love
Prophets Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
To love all people
you don't need a steeple
Just follow your heart together not apart
How may you ask it's no easy task
Listen to me sir we're the children of Jah
Love Love Love Love Love Prophets
Your instruments of war we'll throw on the floor
Believing in love will lift you up above
Race, creed or color, everyone's your brother
Be a mellow dude don't cop that attitude
So stop all your posing and your cocaine jonesing
I'd rather see you smoke the kind and liberate your mind
Get up off your profits and join us love prophets
To love is to be free
The people on the top ain't never gonna stop
Keep us in our place, hide the real face
The killin' and lootin' can't give you nothing
Let's take up our case and get up in their face
Your mother Earth is pressing for love not slash and burning
Take up responsibility and live environmentally
Hypocrisy and fakin' all the things forsaken
Forget them instantly and join reality
Don't you be snoozin' cause it's freedom that you're losing
Vigilance will be its own reward you'll see
Get up and learn and you won't have to yearn
For a great society where everyone is free
Morals
of the Government Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
Where are the morals
of my government
How can they justify the money that's spent
Petty little wars all around the globe
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
How can we sit idly by and watch
While people are killed in the name of freedom
Your politicians and their dirty lies
Breathing out fire and living on high
Our leaders and their policies of hate
Gotta stop 'em all before it's too late
Doing all things behind closed doors
What are they locked up in there for?
Sun, Sun become
Change the light from morning
Lead your life, heed no warning, from yesterday
Few strings attached, but it would be so good
To travel through life's hard woods, together
Nineteen leaves lie around your tree
I sit watching love songs that dance near your smile
Call to the wind for the love that you'll be
If not now then remember roads to run
What do you need?
You'll get the space you wanted
As much as Vermont to make it be
Wet now the leaves, tomorrow maybe burning
Using my heat for warming you'll be free
Plan 9
(from Inner Space) Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1994
Hey hey mister
government man I think that it's about time
To start looking around yourself and stop worrying about
your dime
Got to give it back to the land and people from whence
you came
The sun that's rising up in your eyes and mine is all
the same
Freedom is rolling in like the sea
And it's saying oh be and let be
Leading to a brighter day for you and a better life for
me
I'm going down to the government hall to cast my vote
on the man
But I must tell you I don't like his plan
More and more for the rich while mothers and babies lying
in the ditch
No no no, I don't like his plan
Well now, I think it's time we got to be heard
Raising of the consciousness and spreading of the word
You know that the lowest man towers over the government
Only through the triumph of heart can man repent
Reach out and take the dreamer's hand
Dreaming a dream of our own land
A brighter day is just a day away
Hey, hey, are you gonna go my way?
It's freedom that we're looking for
Come on now, we're walking through the door
Blessing of the mother for the rich and for the poor
Rays of the new sun on every man's door
Many of my brothers have died fighting for the right
The right to go and do where and what you like
Breaking down the walls of hate seeking for illumination
The golden road seven higher paths the end of hate
For I know the way is there burning on high in the air
Said the brightest day is a day away hey hey
Turn it Around Geoghegan/O'Hearn/Woolworth (c)
1992
So many dark spots
under the sun
So many men say nothing can be done
Even though you are only one
You know that victory must be won
We can turn it around
Come and listen to the sound
Don't let it get you down
We can turn it around
Too many bad men making war
When they should be outside making love
If you wish for the kingdom above
Just follow your heart and listen to the song, yeah
We keep on singing our song
Singing it loud and singing it strong
Keep on fighting for the light of day
Keep on living in a Jah Love way
